What is australian saran wrap?

Australians will call this product adhesive wrap or gel wrap after the most popular brand. Canadians call it saran wrap, which is the main brand there, but I've never heard it called adhesive wrap in Canada. Australian materials science company Great Wrap has used potato waste to develop compostable adhesive wrappers for domestic use.
